Though Kevin Love took home the NBA's Most Improved Player Award, it's hard to say that any player made bigger strides this season than Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose. Not a name commonly tossed in the "best point guard in the NBA" discussion prior to the season, Rose did himself one better by putting his name in the MVP debate. In fact, at the age of 22, the Chicago native became the league's youngest player to ever win the award. A tough ending to the Chicago Bulls' playoff run at the hands of LeBron James and the Miami Heat will only make Rose better in the long run, and that's a scary thought for anybody that had the assignment of guarding him this season.
Also making great strides this year was adidas' basketball division, who capped off a great year of releases with the introduction of the lightest basketball sneaker ever created, the adidas adiZero Crazy Light. The model officially launches next Friday in an assortment of colorways, including the Derrick Rose make-up pictured below. Dressed in a traditional Chicago colorway, the shoe features a splattered black upper, white 3-Stripe branding wrapped around the heel and hits of red on trim throughout the side panels and the outsole. To make sure you know it's a Derrick Rose shoe, his signature appears on a tab near the lower heel.
Prior to the official release, you can pre-order the Derrick Rose Crazy Light over at Eastbay.
